I'm back!

After a really long time I read through the blogs that I know. It seemed to be most of them are on a long sabatical from blogging (just like me) and few others doing justice to their blog and their blog readers by frequently updating it. All of a sudden thought I need to start blogging again. Here it goes!

What was I doing so long?!
from September 2007 uptil now (if I had left out something, which means I have honestly forgotten :D)

• One more addition to the family!; a sweet, cute... lil baby, my dear niece.
• I ran the Standard Chartered Singapore marathon 2007; don't wonder too much, there was a 10KM men's category.
• Never even thought of trekking. But it all happened; I climbed the South-East Asia's highest peak, Mt.Kinabalu [for info: 4095.2 m above sea level]. Don't think that I have become a fitness freak! Read further down, you will know the fact.
• Never even dreamt of watching the two giants of Tennis, Roger Federer and Pete Sampras playing together, live!; but it came true.
• I have been to loads of restaurants in Singapore, which I have been planning to go for a long time :D. Few more to cover! I need to separately blog about this: I have been eating out for the past 2 months!!!!
• By now, from the above mentioned point, you guys should have come to a conclusion that I have put on loads of weight. "Actually not!", that is what I tell people, but they aren't convinced :D
• OSO effect: I have been boasting about my 6 packs; you shouldn't count the 6 packs from top to bottom but from inside to outside, then you will get it right! :D

I will continue the list as and when something strikes me.

Surprise!!!!

Indian sweets n savouries! Do I need a better motivation to wake up early in the morning ?! nope :-) A bag full of Shree Mithai sweets, which was increased to another bag within few mins. I was gleefully taking all of them, later was told one bag was for me n another one has to be delivered to somebody else. oh ok! never mind one full bag is for me :-)

Now I need to deliver the sweets (Laks courier service :p) I had to travel to this part of the city where I have never been to, since I came here 2 years ago. With the directions from the train station, headed towards Kovan. From the train station, I was instructed to take a bus.

This time I am gonna be careful. Do not want to repeat it again ("this is the first time u have come to this place, so better ask the bus driver, whether the bus goes to the place where u intend to go")

Bus 513 stops.
me: does the bus stop at ......?
driver: no u have to take 512 or 587
me: Thank u

Bus 512 stops.
me: does the bus stop at ... ?
driver: no
me: * blank*
driver: u have to take 513 or 515
me : (513 ?:-o) ok thanks

Bus 515 stops
* before I cud get in, the bus driver was waving his hand towards me. was wondering wat was he trying to say*
me: does the bus stop at ....?
driver: this bus is heading towards the terminus.
me: oh ok.
driver: Never mind, u get in
me: *Blank*
driver: u jus sit down , u don't have to pay.
me : wat ?!!!!!!!!! (This is not possible in this part of the world!!!!!!!! a FREE ride) completely SURPRISED.
The bus reached the terminus.
driver: jus wait in the bus for 5 mins. I will start again.
me: ok sure :)

For the next 5 mins, we were jus chatting.

the bus started again
me: now I tapped :-)
driver: he explained to me where I need to get down n where I need to catch the bus to return back.
me: (real nice guy!)

Alighted from the bus n thanked him with a big smile :)

As usual switched off the alarm n slept in the morning following which had to fast track the morning chores.
Effect of fast track - forgot my mobile at home which I realized jus when I got into the bus.shit!!!! my mobile! I am gonna miss all the calls (though i knew nobody is gonna call :-D ) :P

Post lunch session, rather close to eve tea session: A srange noise at office, but a familiar one at home, especially in the nights - norrrrrr noooorr brrrrr noorrr brrrrr. This sound was comin from the corner of my office that too when the entire office was silent, which is always the case. All the heads turned towards the corner, wondering who the tired guy (The guy deserves that sleep, who's one of the few to come early to work) was. I cudn't control my laughter, then told myself beware when u sleep next time :-D, do it inconspicuously :p

Finished work, chked online when the bus is gonna come to my stop (Time management! rather emotion control!, else i wud be uselessly chiding the poor bus driver n the bus service ). I was going to meet my friend to help him shift his stuffs to his new house (Laks movers n packers :P). I had to take a bus-train-bus combo to reach his place. The first two went on without any major hiccups. The last one was the worst - saw the bus from the train station n ran towards the bus stop, the driver was patient enough to hold on for a while. Thanked him with a big smile :) With a smug on my face thought I am gonna reach before schedule, that's when I realized that this is not a familiar sight! I went to the driver to ask him where do I get down.
The driver - u shd have told me when u had got in that u didn't know the place. U have taken the bus in the opposite direction!!!!!!!
me - oh!!!Thanks! (wat?! now u don't have a mobile,no change to call up the poor friend who Will be waiting :( )

Post bus confusion: walked to the other side of the road, waiting for the bus. All the services that stopped there had visited the stop twice unlike the service I wanted. HALF AN HR was standing patiently. Then came the chiding- this time the list included my stupid sense for directions :-D. After the long wait n chiding, I saw the bus I needed, not one but two, as if they r the newly met couples who cannot live without each other, holding hands together, scared someone else will grab n run away! sigh!

Finally reached my Friends place n told him a gist of wat happ cos of my hunger level which crossed its threshold. went to the dinning table devoured the bread n got some energy back to walk(run) to the nearest food joint. less talk more food! with hunger controlled everything returned to normal :-) n

After a long time called up my friend in India n was generally chatting. Updates were flowing from both sides, when a sudden argument broke out. It was regarding the email I had sent.

Nike Ad

Did u guys chk out the new Nike ad, which is said to be their first ad based on cricket (if not chk it out in youtube). It claims that they are trying to capture the spirit of the Indian street cricket with authenticity. But I was jus wondering while watching the video with guys playing cricket on the streets with Nike gears. When did this start. I guess too much of hype being created.
